Bel Ami

Updated: Feb 2, 2021

A couple weeks ago, I found myself strolling around the Upper East Side. There was no one around. The stores were all closed, and the restaurants were all dark. Just when I thought all hope of finding caffeine was gone, I stumbled across a little gem, Bel Ami.

Bel Ami is an adorable coffee shop nestled just blocks away from Central Park. While indoor dining is currently suspended, the location of Bel Ami is perfect. You can grab your order, take it to the park, and sit down and enjoy it.

When I went in, I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff was. Even with people waiting outside, they were polite and patient. They took the time to answer questions and truly deliver an experience local coffee shops create that sets them apart from their corporate competition.

I noticed the barista knew a lot of the people who came in and picked up right where they left off last time those people were in. I think people like this truly are the heart of coffee shop culture.

I can't wait to go back to Bel Ami when I will be able to stay and enjoy my coffee there!
