This weekend I went on the road. There is no better time to check out a new coffee shop than when exploring a new city. This weekend I went to Hamburg, NY to spend time with my family. While walking through the village, I came across this place and just had to check it out. This place was The Grange Community Kitchen.
Outside, there were numerous people sitting drinking their coffee and just watching life pass by. Talk about something out of a movie!
When I walked in, I was greeted by a young staff eager to help. The place is absolutely beautiful. Everything is wood and white. The place is also astoundingly clean. The minimalistic design is complemented by plants that really bring life to the place, something that will really help in the Hamburg winters.
I ordered a simple iced coffee. It was very good. It wasn't too strong but it still had enough flavor to stand out. Sometimes the most simple drinks are the best things on the menu. They have a station where you add your own cream and sugar so you can make sure you get just the right amount.
I went and sat outside with my coffee. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of people who came to see how I was doing and making sure that everything was going well. I find that at a lot of restaurants the people outside tend to be forgotten or under serviced. These waiters made sure I was being treated just as well as the people on the inside.
I will definitely stop by next time I am in town. I enjoyed the experience from the moment I walked in the door until the second I left. There is nothing like a clean coffee shop with great service!
